Traveling MissionariesYou might find, as a traveling missionary, that you are helping people in places you never thought you would visit. Traveling in the U.S.2011 Espanola, New Mexico Our youth and young adults traveled to McCurdy School to help with cleaning and making repairs as needed for the good of the school.
2008 & 2009 Youth and Young Adults spend their spring break traveling to hurricane damaged-areas to help UMCOR make repairs in whatever way help is needed.
2005 Presidio, Texas The team completed some construction to the church/daycare facility in Presidio. The United Methodist Church operates the only public daycare in Presidio.
2001 Gallup, New Mexico The team worked on a playground and did other construction.
Overseas with a Direct Connection to the Methodist Church in Hungary2013 Kisvaszar, Hungary The team is planning to return to Hungary and once again partner with the church in Dumbovar as they minister in Kisvaszar.
2012 Kisvaszar, Hungary Our team began working with the church at Dombovar as they are reaching out to the neighboring town of Kisvaszar.
2010 Pécs, Hungary The team renovated part of the sanctuary. They made solid connections with Pastor Josef and learned more about his outreach to the local Roma (gypsy) families by working along-side both groups.
2008 Szeged, Hungary The team remodeled a building as a youth center and Sunday School rooms. They also had the opportunity to have Sunday School lessons with the children and youth. On American night, the team cooked for the congregation. They shared an El Paso style meal of Chiles Rellenos and Enchiladas.
2006 Nyiregyhaza, Hungary The team worked with the members of their congregation to renovate their sanctuary.
2004 Budapest, Hungary The team made repairs to the Church Centre in OBuda.
Overseas with United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR)2002 Mostar, Bosnia i Herzegovina The team built three greenhouses to be used by the UMCOR feeding program. As UMCOR directed, one greenhouse was built for a Bozniak family, one was built for a Serbian family and one was built for a Croatian family.
2000 Trnava, Slovakia The team made repairs to the church building in Trnava.
1999 Nemila, Bosnia i Herzegovina The team made repairs to the school. This mountain town had an influx of displaced persons as a result of civil war. UMCOR was operating a kindergarten in a cooperative effort with the school and invited St. Mark's to work in the community.
Overseas in Belize
2010 Youth and Young adults traveled to Belize representing Uncharted Waters with a high energy Bible based summer sports camp. The group was rewarded with growing numbers of students as they connected sports and the Word of God.
Overseas with Volunteers in Mission (VIM)2011 Miedzyrzecz, Poland The team turned attic space into useable space to help the church maximize the use of their building.
2008 / 2009 Mulungwishi, Democratic Republic of The Congo We cooperated with a New Mexico Conference VIM team that made repairs and up-grades to the United Methodist Mission Outpost in Mulungwishi.
1997 Skopje, Macedonia The team made repairs to the Methodist Church building in Skopje. The project was carried out in cooperation with VIM.
